Reading for pleasure (B2)

READING THE NEWS*

  • The word 'news' ends in 's' but it is a singular noun. You need to use a singular verb. If you want to say there is more than one you have to use the partitive 'a piece of'. Examples: 'There isn't any good news.' 'There are two pieces of news thant we want to tell you.'
